Ok, so never heard of this series (Johnny b Goode is book 1). Just happened to run across a review on one of my favorite blogs so I decided to give it a whirl because I love a good rock star bad boy story. I gotta say I enjoyed - it kept me guessing what was going to happen almost until the very end. I was a wreck because I really thought it wasn't going to turn out the way I was really really hoping it was going to. Author knows how to write. I don't want to give away too much because that will take away from the story - but damn if this rock star didn't keep me at the edge of my seat the entire time! It was the story that kept me reading- not descriptive sex scenes - which would have also been a little more enjoyable. I loved the character of Meg- she developed beautifully into a strong independent loving ( so darn funny too) woman. And Johnny - the quintessential bad boy rock star- I just couldn't get enough of him. There were times in BBM that I thought I was going to scream because there were so many bad choices/decisions. But ultimately that is what makes a really good story and this one had the goods. These 2 books were written awhile back - so I'm writing this review to hopefully spread the word it is a good read!! I knew how I wanted this book to end and I was grinning like a lunatic when I finally finished it. I think Christian is a sweetheart and very lovely but I absolutely adore Johnny even though he can be an ass sometimes. I'm actually a little angry with myself for reading it so fast (one day!) because now I have to wait at least another year before getting my next Paige Toon fix! I was also really happy hearing a little more about Daisy and what's going on with her.

Overall I have to say I loved Baby Be Mine, although saying that, I may not have loved it quite so much if it had ended differently.

Loved the book...about to download another Page Toon novel. I must say I'm thoroughly hooked. I like how each of the characters have been introduced previously from another book.
I love these books. They're fun easy beach reads. I can actually see these characters. I like Paige Toon's writing and her light stories. I actually read the Johnny books out of order. Did the baby one first. Was still a great read. Was actually nice to read it backwards. Kind of like watching Star Wars movies.
Seriously, this book was so good. Such a amazing love story. I especially loves the idea of healing yourself so that love can find you.
I had been dying to know what happened between Meg and Johnny ever since finishing Johnny Be Good. I even purchased Chasing Daisy, knowing that Toon is famous for giving a little follow up of the characters from the previous book. I was not disappointed at all in this purchase. Love the story and thought it was a wonderful follow up to Johnny. I highly recommend this read to any fan of Toon. I must also say, that even though this is a follow up (and you are totally missing out if you don't read Johnny first), that this novel could technically be a stand alone, you will just be missing so much of the story though.
Johnny Be Good was an unexpected delight and I eagerly started reading the sequel Baby Be Mine moments after completing the first part of Johnny and Meg's journey. When I started reading these books I expected light, fun reading, typical of the Chic Lit genre. Despite the many humorous dialogues between the characters, this book certainly isn't light reading. The main storyline does not allow for light reading - Meg's son Barney is not the produce of her current boyfriend but is the result of a sexual encounter with his best friend Johnny. How on earth do you write yourself out of that mess? Paige Toon (seriously - this can't possibly be her real name "Page Turn" badly spelt?), manages to do just that in a very credible way. Loved Johnny, loved Christian, loved Meg and somehow still do, despite the desperate love triangle. A most satisfying ending to a really great story!

I do have a personal objection to the unfortunate offspring's name - Barney? Isn't that a purple dinosaur?
I've been reading romance novels for years, which means that I've pretty much exhausted the supply of GOOD romance novels. It can be challenging to find a new book that doesn't shamelessly copy books I've already read. And don't get me started on some of the horrible writing that's out there these days... But I'm a junky, and I need my fix ) This book was recommended to me on GoodReads, and I am so glad I read it and its companion, "Johnny Be Good." "Baby Be Mine" is the second book in the series, and actually, I like it a bit better than book one. The writing was above-average, the story interesting, and the chemistry achingly believable. I don't normally give 5 stars to books like this (I try to reserve that ranking for the "Pride and Prejudice"s of this world), but for a contemporary romance, this is almost as good as it gets. And its SO MUCH BETTER than most of the current crop of romance novels. If you like the contemporary genre, I think you will enjoy these books by Paige Toon.
